The City of Joondalup covers an area of 98.9 square kilometres from Kinross in the north, to Warwick in the south, with a population of almost 155,000 at the 2016 Census.
In the 2016 census, the labour force in the City was said to be 84,791 persons with the number in employment at 93.1%.

The City of Joondalup manages building regulations and development, public health, local roads and footpaths, parks and playing fields, libraries, local environmental issues, waste disposal, and many other community services.
